Anthropic Uses Claude Mythos 5 to Design More Efficient Quantum Circuits, Several Surpassing the Best Published Designs

Anthropic released a research report in which Claude Mythos 5 autonomously optimized quantum circuits in a closed loop: the model proposed circuit designs, while an automated evaluator verified correctness and scored them by qubit count multiplied by gate count. Across eight tasks spanning chemistry, optimization, quantum simulation, and number theory, the results surpassed the best previously published designs, with some improvements exceeding an order of magnitude.
