Pessimism and Optimism Pessimism and Optimism Good and Evil BuddhismEverything is inherently good.Evil is superficial. Goodness is essential. LegalismEverything is inherently evil.Goodness is superficial. Evil is essential. TaoismNeither good nor evil.Moving between the two. Buddha : GoodDemon : Evil If : If all things good and evil continually tended in one direction, then good and evil would cease to exist. If all ice cream tasted good, we wouldn’t have the phrase “tastes good.”Pessimists are always right; optimists always move forward. A peaceful heart can heal a thousand afflictions A tranquil mind can understand the principles of all things : Everything has to do with your mindsetPessimists are always right because they see things too clearly and have gone through the same vicious cycle too many times Before things have even begun : they have already imagined the worst possible outcomeAnd most of the time, they’re right Optimists keep moving forward because they always hold on to hope : staying positiveand finding every possible way to change the status quoOptimists stay young forever Forever moved to tears Forever on the road Summary Pessimists always predict the worst possible outcome for everything, then accept it Optimists know how things will end, yet still do everything they can to make the outcome better
